We were proud to be at Conestoga College’s Woodworking Showcase to present the very first Marty Schlosser Memorial Award for Excellence in Wood Finishing.

Congratulations to Claire Darlow and Alexis Smith from the Woodworking Technology program! 🎓 Your capstone finishes were outstanding.

Marty spent nearly 50 years designing and building furniture. His spray finishing journey started in the early ‘90s, when his wife gave him a simple spray gun to experiment with. He taught himself the craft and became a go-to expert that professionals turned to for advice.

He was also a born educator. Marty’s goal was always to “generate enthusiasm.” He wanted beginners and seasoned woodworkers alike to love the craft as much as he did. Over the years, he shared that passion with the Fuji community through blogs and an introductory spray finishing curriculum.

Marty was a Fuji Spray user for more than 20 years and a dear friend. We created this award so his passion could keep inspiring new finishers.

Claire and Alexis are each heading into their careers with their own Fuji spray system. 🙌

Marty would have loved your work. We can’t wait to see what you finish next.

We came to Atlanta with equipment. We’re leaving with ideas.

Four days of talking shop, sharing what we’ve been working on, hearing your feedback, and meeting the people behind the projects.

That’s what made IWF Atlanta 2026 a good one.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by, explored our HVLP systems and spray guns, shared your thoughts, and talked finishing with our team.

Until next time, Atlanta 👋

No thinning? No problem.

Some primers can be a challenge to spray, but the D6™ 6-Stage HVLP Spray System is built to handle thicker coatings with confidence.

Watch it spray Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer undiluted using a 2.0 mm air cap for smooth, even coverage.

Have you sprayed this primer before?
