Canada's Maple Hope Foundation has been awarded the prestigious Order of Saint Panteleimon [Орден Святого Пантелеймона. Честь медичної професії], one of Ukraine's highest public honours recognizing those dedicated to healing the body, mind, and spirit. We congratulate our friends and colleagues at the Foundation for this well-deserved distinction for their tireless efforts to bring essential medical technologies and supplies to those who need them most in Ukraine.

The timing of the honour is especially fitting as Ukraine marked Medical Workers’ Day earlier this week, recognizing the courage and unwavering dedication of doctors, nurses, combat medics, and emergency crews who save lives under the most extreme conditions.

Multinational medical exercises are invaluable for putting operational capabilities, technology, and processes for military medical support to the test in demanding and realistic scenarios.
Our MOVES® SLC™ life support technology and MADM™ mobile anethesia module were deployed at this year’s Vigorous Warrior 2026 (VW26), NATO’s largest multinational medical exercise.

Held in Estonia earlier in June, the multi-day exercise brought together 38 Allied and partner nations coordinated by the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (NATO MILMED COE) and conducted in partnership with NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA).

VW26 covered the full spectrum of military medical support, from care at the point of injury through casualty stabilisation, evacuation, Role 2 hospitals, and continuity of care across medical units — precisely the environments for which the rugged, mobile, and integrated MOVES® SLC™ & MADM™ are designed.

As Brigadier General Dr. Jens E. K. Diehm, Director of the NATO MILMED COE, shared following the event: "Vigorous Warrior is the pivotal exercise for the NATO medical community. It brings Allies and partners together to train medical support jointly, realistically and in line with the demands of today’s operational environment."

We’re pleased to participate in initiatives that help advance medical capabilities for large-scale combat operations and foster greater interoperability, innovation, and civil-military cooperation.

Our Thornhill Medical team is preparing for Vigorous Warrior 2026, the largest multinational medical exercise conducted under NATO auspices. It's all happening next week in Estonia.
Our MOVES® SLC™ mobile integrated life support technology will be deployed within Role 2 medical facilities, supporting realistic training scenarios focused on operational and expeditionary medical care.

Over the past couple of weeks, our Thornhill Medical team has participated in conversations at CANSEC 2026 and the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) Marketplace 2026, both in Ottawa; the NATO–Ukraine Defence Innovators Forum in Vilnius, Lithuania; and the 65th Plenary Session of NATO's Committee of Chiefs of Military Medical Services (COMEDS) in Skopje, North Macedonia -- to name just a few!

While each event had a different focus, a common theme emerged: innovation only creates impact when it can be adopted, sustained, and deployed where it is needed most.

At CANSEC, we engaged with Canadian Armed Forces personnel, allied military representatives, government leaders, industry partners, and international stakeholders on operational readiness, evolving threats, and the role of medical technologies in defence and security. We were encouraged by the continued focus on strengthening collaboration and accelerating operational use.

During the CANSEC Spotlight Series, our Chief Marketing Officer and Ukraine Lead, Tessa Mintz, shared Thornhill Medical's experience in Ukraine, underscoring a key lesson: successful capability deployment depends not only on technology, but also on trusted partnerships, training, sustainment, and ongoing engagement with frontline users.

Those same themes continued at the IDEaS Marketplace and the NATO-Ukraine Defence Innovators Forum, where innovators, military stakeholders, and partners came together to discuss how proven technologies are addressing real-world operational challenges. At COMEDS, our team engaged in discussions around the role of medical capability as a strategic enabler of collective defence, and the importance of integrating civilian and military medical systems to ensure readiness, responsiveness, and resilience.

For Thornhill Medical, these conversations reinforce an important principle: the ultimate measure of success is not what is demonstrated in a conference hall, but what performs in demanding environments when lives depend on it.
