Sharon La Riviere, Senior Manager, Digital Marketing at LATICRETE North America, and Lesley Goddin, Editorial Director and Senior Writer at TileLetter, recently visited ceramic artist Rhoda Kahler Studio's award-winning Woven Earth installation at the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere.

Inspired by African art, textiles, and tribal design, the project transformed the entrance to the African Village with a breathtaking 55-foot handmade tile mural and a 37-foot serpentine bench filled with vibrant textures and organic movement.

What makes it even more impressive? The installation looks just as stunning today as it did when it was first completed, a testament to the artistry, craftsmanship, and durability behind every detail. ✨

Built with precision, passion, and collaboration, the project utilized MULTIMAX™ Lite mortar, HYDRO BAN® waterproofing, PERMACOLOR® Select grout, LATASIL® sealant, and STONETECH® Quartz & Porcelain Tile Sealer.

Art, culture and community come together in the award-winning Watsonville Brillante public mosaic project in Watsonville, California. 🎨

Led by local artist and educator Kathleen Crocetti, with installation support from Rinaldi Tile & Marble, the six-story mural transforms the Civic Plaza Parking Garage with 185 mosaic panels celebrating more than 90 cultures and every Mexican state. Its powerful vertical murals honor stories of labor, resilience and identity.

Recognized with the 2025 Coverings CID Award for Artistic Design and the NTCA Five-Star Community Impact Award, this extraordinary project required a system built for long-term exterior performance and seismic stability.
