Happy Sunday! Well........it's officially 25 years that I have been a manufacturer's sales agent, and much longer in the industry. I have been reflecting on my journey thus far. When you are entrepreneurial, driven and always looking at your future goals, I am often reminded it's important to reflect on where you came from and what you have accomplished. People often ask me, "What would you do if you could do anything? I always say, "I would do this!" It all started in 1993 when I got hired at Lumberland. They were building the new Fleetwood Surrey store, and I was hired. I remember those first two shifts. Putting down dust bain and sweeping floors all day, I thought to myself, wow, this is boring!! However, what I did not know was where this career would take me. I worked in various departments and after 1 and 1/2 years, a new Home Depot store was opening up in South Surrey, so I applied and started in the fall of 1995. Again, working in a few departments, moving up to department manager, and then assistant manager. I got an opportunity to join a sales agency so I did and started in 2000. After 5 years, I had an opportunity to open my agency and have enjoyed building and learning the business from there. I am very fortunate to have had the opportunities and experience that got me here today. Many mentors have entered my life along the way, and I would not be who I am today either professionally or personally had it not been for the opportunities each company presented. I remember being told once that sales is not a job, it's a lifestyle and although it's not for everyone, it's the best career choice for me. I look forward to helping the next generation as they come up in the industry. You never stop learning or earning and making a difference to everyone you encounter. It's not about the sale, it's about the experience and relationships you make along the way. Fortunately, I also love the process of providing product solutions and the sale, so for me, it's a win/win. Hopefully, my message inspires others, just as I am inspired when I read other like-minded people's posts on this platform. Have a great day and good selling!!
