Growth is on the horizon at Future Ag! 🌾

Future Ag Stony Plain is building a brand-new service shop to better support our customers and keep your equipment running at its best. This new facility will expand our service capabilities and help us serve you faster and more efficiently.

Even better, this shop will also support our customers from Future Ag Inc - Mayerthorpe, where we don’t have a service department. That means improved access to expert service and support for even more of our valued customers.

We’re looking forward to this next step and can’t wait to share updates as the project moves forward. Stay tuned!

Agrivoltaics is opening new doors for Alberta farms. By combining solar energy with active crop or livestock production, producers can generate clean power without taking land out of agriculture.

From sheep grazing beneath solar arrays to forages and leafy greens thriving in partial shade, dual land use is proving that renewable energy and farming can work side by side. With opportunities to lease land, reduce on-farm energy costs and build long-term resilience, agrivoltaics offers a practical path forward for rural Alberta.

Soil health is more than a buzzword in Alberta — it’s a priority. More producers are turning to cover crops between main crops to protect and strengthen their soil. According to the Alberta Seed Guide, “Interest in cover crops is growing in Alberta as farmers look for ways to save their soil”.

Cover crops like clover, peas and oats help reduce erosion, fix nitrogen and capture valuable snow and rain. By keeping living roots in the ground, they improve water infiltration and hold more moisture in place, helping mitigate drought conditions. After harvest, many Alberta farmers seed barley or custom cover mixes to protect their fields through winter, building resilience from the ground up.
