When CHEO's air ambulance stretchers were failing monthly inspections, 4 of 5 helicopters were grounded. 🚁

Nature is a master architect, and the human eye might be its most delicate blueprint. 🧬

Transplant waitlists are notoriously long because medicine relies almost entirely on human donors.

For years, replicating the crystal-clear transparency of a cornea seemed totally out of reach for 3D printing; but researchers have just taken a massive leap toward an on-demand solution. 📈

By forcing bio-ink through a narrow nozzle, they were able to align stem cells in a perfectly parallel structure that allows light to pass straight through without scattering.

The result was a 100% transparent, living cornea that boasts a 90% cell survival rate and actively regrows nerves. 👁️

PolyUnity recently had the honour of participating in the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame Discovery Days in health sciences!💡

Our very own Wylie Butler joined oncology expert Tim Healey in an interactive workshop introducing high school students to potential careers in healthcare. 🩺

While Tim offered a lens into the science and technology behind cancer treatment, Wylie's personal story as a cancer survivor added a human level to the workshop, taking the workshop beyond a purely clinical experience.🎗️

With over 225 students in attendance, this event empowered local youth to explore their options beyond what they see in text books.

A huge thank you NL Health Services and Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University for showing up for our youth, and to the Canadian Medical Association, MD Financial Management - Gestion financière MD, and Scotiabank for sponsoring this impactful event! 👏
