Emergency Preparedness Week is a great time to take a few simple, high-impact steps on the shop floor. Hydraulitechs recommends that manufacturing teams use this week to focus on three key areas aligned with the national guidance:
Ideas we have implemented at Hydraulitechs:
Host a short safety huddle to review your siteโs top three emergency scenarios (for example, fire, hydraulic leak, major injury) and what each personโs role is.
Run a quick evacuation drill or simulated spill response during a low-risk period and time your response.
Have supervisors and operators verify that exits are clear, extinguishers are visible and inspected, spill kits are stocked, and eyewash stations are working.
Establish morning stretch routine as a team!
Small actions add up to a safer plant, a more confident workforce, and a stronger manufacturing sector across Saskatchewan.
