We are grateful to have been invited to participate in the restoration of Sarnia’s Missing Worker Memorial.

Big Lake was commissioned to design, fabricate and install the four wisteria plant umbrella structures. Each post was galvanized and then powder coated, ensuring a very long life.

Over time the wisteria plants will grow up them, and then dangle down.

Two steel pergolas built for the City of Port Colborne as a downtown landmark project along the Welland Canal.

Design, 3D modeling and shop drawings were all done in house, and then sent out for engineering. Big Lake completed the site surveying and installed the foundations. After fabrication they were sent out to be galvanized, sweep blasted and then powder coated, so these structures will be rust free for a very long time.

Custom galvanized hardware was cerakoted to match. Crane was hired in and Big Lake did the erecting and finishing touches.

Each pergola weighs 10,000 lbs. The slats provide some shade and each of them has rings for mounting sun shade sails and Edison bulb string lights. The city will be adding plants and a local restaurant will be using one of the pergolas for lunch and dinner service.
