Just installed this monster of a gate — stretching just over 17 feet!

I love building gates, especially when I get to make something creative and a little outside the ordinary. This one was definitely a beast, but seeing it hanging in place makes all the fabrication, hauling and wrestling worth it.

And a huge shoutout to my amazing installation man for helping me get this beast where it belongs. Gates of this size are definitely a two-person job…

Another happy client on Pender Island. ❤️

This railing was fabricated in my shop on Salt Spring Island and installed on Pender today. One of those projects where the client trusted me to take the measurements, work through the details, and bring the vision to life — and I’m so grateful for that trust.

There’s something pretty satisfying about starting with a pile of steel in the shop and leaving behind something that’s not only functional, but built to belong there.

A big thank you to my client for trusting the process and letting me do what I do.

Another project in the books, another ferry ride home, and another reminder of how lucky I am to make a living creating things with my hands.

Twenty-six years ago today, I began my journey to become an industrial metal artist. I drove across Canada alone in just four days to start a new life, carrying nothing but dreams, goals, determination and a welding certificate. I had never worked in a shop environment.

Now, 26 years later, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve built a life doing what I love, creating art from metal and turning ideas into reality.

This anniversary feels especially significant because in just one more year, I’ll have lived in British Columbia for half of my life.

Dreams really can come true when you’re willing to take a chance, work hard, and keep moving forward.

Here’s to the journey, the lessons, and whatever comes next.
