This 21' long 18" Chip auger with 5/8" thick flights will wear down to razor blade thickness in no time. The auger runs 60 degrees in a 20' long, 20" X 1/2" thick 304SS stainless steel tube ($$$) which also wears out. We were able to salvage part of the drive end, redesign the shaft end to reduce shaft deflection with a steel sleeve. We totally rebuilt the opposite end with new heavy walled pipe, 5/8" QT400 flights and coat them with Enecon solutions that will reduce wear and greatly increase operating life at a cost thousands of dollars lower than new. Augers used in mining, forestry, agriculture and many more industries simply move material from "A" to "B" at any angle. Replacing one can be extremely expensive so we take a different approach at Mt Ida and Enecon. Not only was this large auger repaired at half the cost of a new one but it was repaired in days over months for a new one. In addition we applied the toughest coating in the industry today. Same manufacturer solution that repairs A1-Abram tanks in field of battle for repairs. This will give the repaired auger a longer life, reliability and lower overall operation costs.
