Can you guess what's happening here? 👇

Before a single paver reaches a plaza, a facade, a backyard or a floor, it starts like this with perforated holes drilled at equal spacing and pneumatic tooling splitting the block along the line. No shortcuts and no guessing, just stone worked correctly from the start. This is what the first phases of stone extraction looks like up close.

Five granites. One plaza. Parc Michel-Bélanger at National Bank Place in Montreal's financial district used a medley of North American stone - Caledonia™, Titanium Pearl™, and Kodiak Brown™ for paving, Bethel White™ fabricated into custom seating blocks, and Stanstead Grey™ on the secondary elevation. All the pavers were cut in a 4"x4" format across both the ground plaza and fifth-floor rooftop terrace. Four of the five stones came out of Quebec quarries and the fifth from Vermont.

The commanding figure is carved from Georgia Marble™. The wall behind it is also entirely clad in it. The "Majesty of Law" has steadfastly sat outside the U.S. Supreme Court since 1935. It was sculpted by James Earle Fraser and quarried from the same Tate, Georgia deposit that Polycor operates today. When the country's most permanent institutions chose a stone, they chose American marble. The same stone is still available today thanks to good quarry stewardship and investments in technology and modern operations.

Georgia Marble™ – Pearl Grey™ floor to ceiling, wall to wall, the movement in the stone does more work than any fixture or finish could. Quarried in Tate, Georgia, Pearl Grey has been a staple of American luxury interiors and monumental architecture for over a century. It belongs on a bathroom floor as much as it belongs on a Capitol building.

The Museum of Modern Art's sculpture garden is one of the most visited outdoor spaces in New York City and one of the most quietly demanding. Open year-round, subject to foot traffic, maintenance, and the full range of a Manhattan winter, the paving needed to perform as well as it looked. Georgia Marble™ – Pearl Grey™ has done exactly that since the garden's redesign. Soft veining, understated color, and a surface that holds up without overpowering the garden, exactly what a world-class art space requires.

Every stone project starts here. The people in our quarries have a deep knowledge of stone that specifiers have come to rely on. How it splits, how it is graded, how the color shifts from the top of the bench to the bottom. That knowledge is what comes with specifying from a quarrier who owns their full operation, from quarry to plant to finished installation.

Specify with confidence and build with pride knowing you’re supporting local jobs and local economies versus outsourcing overseas.

No, this is not AI. When Simon Fraser University's iconic Brutalist style campus plaza needed renewal after 50 years, the answer wasn't replacement, it was 193,600 square feet of Polycor granite.

Four stones (Cambrian Black™, Picasso™, Bethel White™, and Barre Gray™) were arranged deliberately with darker granite at the lower transit levels, gradually lightening through to the upper levels. Several connecting areas had a mix of all the stones together to create the mosaic effect seen here from above.

Landscape architect John Wall drew the concept directly from Erickson's own philosophy: education as a progress from darkness to revelation.

The carved detail on this facade took craftsmen, quarried marble blocks, and a decision to do create a building of permanence. The Corcoran School of Arts in Washington, D.C., clad in Georgia Marble™ – White Georgia™, is one of the most ornate applications of American marble in the capital. The same stone from the same Tate, Georgia quarry, still in operation and still available today.

The rough texture of split faced limestone does something polished stone can't. It softens and catches light differently at every hour, giving the fireplace wall a presence that shifts throughout the day. The kind of detail that makes a room feel considered rather than decorated, turning standard fireplaces into feature walls.

Granite curbing doesn't need replacement. Installed once, it handles freeze-thaw, heavy loads, and decades of urban wear without fading, cracking, or requiring intervention. For municipalities and commercial developers, that lifecycle math matters as much as the aesthetic.

Polycor manufactures curbing from Caledonia™, Elberton Gray™, and Stanstead Grey™ granite for streetscape and site work applications, direct from North American quarries.
