September 30th marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Today, and everyday, we remember the tragedies that took place at the Residential Schools throughout Canada. We honor the children who made it home, and those who didn't, as well as their families and communities.

"To see the light, we first must admit to the darkness."

Together we can make a difference going forward by accepting the harsh reality so many Indigenous people had to endure, and still continue to try and heal from.

Some ways you can get involved on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day, include but are not limited to:

- Wearing an orange shirt to spread awareness
- Reading The Orange Shirt Story or Phyllis's Orange Shirt
- Attending events in your communities
- Supporting Indigenous artists/businesses
- Donating to organizations such as "The Orange Shirt Society" or "Indian Residential School Survivors Society"
- Acknowledge the traditional territory you reside on

And so much more.
