Ever wondered what bees and engineers have in common? 🐝
Today we're taking a minute to pause our CAD drawings and drone flights to celebrate World Bee Day. Launched by the United Nations in 2017, World Bee Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of bees, the role they play in our daily lives, and how we can help reverse their declining populations.
These tiny superheroes don't just produce honey 🍯 they pollinate nearly 75% of our essential food crops and play a critical role in building healthy, resilient communities. By ensuring the genetic diversity of plants and improving their resistance to diseases, pests, and climate change, bees help keep entire ecosystems structurally sound, affecting everything from food supplies to biofuels and construction materials like timber.
At EBH, we believe that robust infrastructure doesn't just mean robust road and building construction; it means considering existing ecosystems, understanding social and environmental impact, and planning for the future so that we can help build a strong and resilient foundation for the future, both for people and our pollinators.
