Salmon Limited Sportfishing Niagara

Salmon Limited Sportfishing Niagara Guided Lake Ontario Salmon and Trout charters led by Niagara Falls born, lifelong local Captain John Mastrandrea.

Specializing in trolling, with a focus on personal service, comfort, and results for anglers and visitors of all experience levels. We fish exclusively in Niagara, maintaining a constant pulse on Lake Ontario to stay where the fish are. We don’t chase the fleet or follow the crowd—if the bite is elsewhere, that’s where we go. With the right equipment, proven tactics, and local expertise, we focus

on finding fish and putting them in the boat. We’re small enough to offer a friendly, personal experience, yet fully equipped to deliver results. Every charter is private, reserved only for your group, allowing us to provide one-on-one attention and maximize your time on the water and fighting fish. Our home port is Port Dalhousie Pier Marina in the historic old town of St. Catharines, Ontario—approximately 8 nautical miles west of the Niagara River and just 20–30 minutes from most Niagara-area accommodations. The marina is one of the premier ports on the south shore of Lake Ontario, offering access to some of the finest Salmon and Trout fishing in Canada. Located near excellent restaurants and beautiful free beaches, Port Dalhousie is the perfect place to relax, explore, and enjoy a great meal before or after your fishing adventure.

An excellent evening on Lake Ontario with Ella, Steven and Chris. King salmon, coho salmon and Atlantic salmon all made it to the boat, with beautiful conditions and a bonus sunset to finish the trip.
Deeper offshore water produced plenty of action, while moving shallower as the sun went down delivered some hard-hitting bites.
A few September dates are still available before we wrap up our trout and salmon season. Book your trip at www.salmonlimited.net.

An awesome morning on Lake Ontario with Joey and Ryan. This time of year is one of my favourites, with a great mix of mature King Salmon, hard-fighting Rainbow Trout and Coho Salmon all in play.

September can produce some of the most exciting fishing of the season, and mornings like this are exactly why we keep getting back out there.

Come see what Lake Ontario fishing is all about.

Finally got the chance to chase salmon with Joey for the first time this season! The Seaswirl Striper has been so busy running charters that we haven’t had the opportunity to fish together on Lake Ontario.
Tonight, the conditions were perfect for staging salmon and the action was hot.

The staging salmon are here!
Screaming reels and hard hits made for plenty of missed opportunities, but Dwight, George and Scottie stuck with it and put some solid fish in the boat in the 20+ pound range.
September morning trips are now booking (and almost full)! Depending on conditions, we target mature kings nearshore or head offshore for rainbow trout and coho salmon action. Send us a message to reserve your date or book directly on our website.

This summer has been incredible, and I just want to thank everyone who booked with us on Lake Ontario. We’ve shared some amazing days on the water, caught a lot of fish, and made a ton of memories.
A big thank you to Crystal and Matt, who finished off July with a great morning on the lake and a mixed bag of trout and salmon.
I’ll be taking a short break in August to travel and fish a different part of the world as I love to do. Every new fishery teaches me something, and I always come home with new ideas that make me a better angler and guide.
I’ll be back in September, which is one of my favourite months on Lake Ontario. Cooling water and schools of bait make for some of the most consistent fishing of the season, with aggressive Coho Salmon and acrobatic Rainbow Trout leading the action.
If you’d like to get out before the season ends, I only have a limited number of September dates remaining.

Our morning trip with Kim and the family was a nice success and a reminder that patience pays off on Lake Ontario.
The early bite wasn’t fast, but there was enough activity to keep us on our toes. As the morning developed, we found active fish and put together a steady catch of salmon and trout. This beautiful rainbow trout was one of the highlights of the day. These fish are famous for their blistering first run, powerful head shakes, and acrobatic jumps—making them one of the most exciting species to catch anywhere on the Great Lakes.
Most of our action came by staying with the bait and making subtle adjustments to our presentation as the fish changed their mood throughout the morning. When everything comes together—a calm lake, warm summer weather, quality fish, and a family enjoying every minute—it’s hard to ask for a better day on the water.

Some evenings are about more than just the number of fish.
Eric and Irena booked a sunset trip out of Port Dalhousie, and while the action wasn’t fast, it stayed steady throughout the evening. They were rewarded with an impressive four-species catch: Chinook Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and Lake trout with a few big ones lost.
With calm water, warm summer weather, and an incredible Lake Ontario sunset as the backdrop, it was one of those evenings that reminds you why fishing in Niagara is so special. Great company, steady action, and beautiful conditions made for a memorable trip from start to finish and a great first anniversary for Eric and Irena.

What an awesome morning it was! Thanks for the compliment guys .
