Brian Wood, Co-Founder, A second generation professional in the precast concrete business, Brian is a leading personality in the industry since 1990. During his 27 years as President of Con Cast Pipe, he served the industry as Board Chair of the Ontario Concrete Pipe Association (OCPA), Director of the Canadian Concrete Pipe Association, Canadian Board Representative for the American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA) and Board Member of the Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA). John Quarrie, Co-Founder, began his career as a welder for a precast company called Utility Vault Co. of Canada which later became part of the Lake Ontario Cement Group of Companies. Since 1978, John has designed and built hundreds of steel forms for North American precast concrete companies that produced a wide range of precast concrete products.

Hydro vault form produces a 5-sided rectangular tub-shaped precast concrete box

Infra-Tech Steel Works specializes in providing steel forms for hydro vaults. Among our designs is a five-sided rectangular tub-shaped form featuring counter-weighted hinge-back doors, specifically engineered to facilitate single-operator use without the need for additional equipment.

Our jackets are designed with versatility in mind, accommodating a range of removable extensions and various shapes. The inner core rectangular form has a mechanical collapsing feature, where four precision-machined vertical core walls smoothly move inwards and outwards through the use of a rotational cam crank.

Both the jacket and core walls can be customized with an array of wall shapes and profile recesses. Our casting pallets are available in metal and non-metallic joint profiles.

To ensure a watertight seal, all casting pallets are equipped with an inside and outside chamfer-profiled ethylene-propylene diene monomer (EPDM) gasket. EPDM gasket material is renowned for its resilience against extreme temperatures and resistance to a variety of industrial chemicals, making it an ideal choice for outdoor applications.

Precast concrete pipe forms available in sizes 300mm to 3600mm

Infra-Tech Steel Works supplied a client with a 1200mm x 3000mm low flow channel precast concrete pipe form with weightless roll-back jackets equipped with OSHA-compliant worker platforms. The form has an option for removal jackets and pallet lifters, if there is a requirement for multiple castings per shift. In addition, the form jackets can be equipped with the external vibration mount option, if there is a requirement for external concrete consolidation. The form comes with a mechanical collapsing core that is manually activated using a base-mounted rotational cam crank releasing all casting surfaces from the concrete product. The form casting pallets and headers have a chamfer profiled ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) seal on the inside diameter and outer perimeters to create a watertight seal. The form is available in diameters from 300mm (12 inches) up to 3600mm (144 inches).

Low-flow precast reinforced concrete pipe is a critical component of urban and suburban infrastructure designed to manage stormwater runoff efficiently while minimizing the risk of flooding, erosion, and water pollution. They are durable and subject to various design and maintenance considerations to ensure their effectiveness in protecting the environment and public infrastructure.

Low flow pipe comes in various sizes and diameters, ranging from small culverts to large drainage pipelines. The choice of size depends on the specific application and the volume of stormwater to be managed. Design and installation require compliance with regulations related to stormwater quality and quantity control.
