Update from the shop floor. 👀

Our 20 BBL automated brewhouse is entering the final stages of system integration and coming together exactly as planned. The next phase will include mechanical and automation testing, followed by Quality inspections before disassembly and shipment to its new home.

From fabrication to controls integration, every detail matters when building systems designed for performance, reliability, and repeatability.

Progress continues on this 20 BBL automated brewhouse, currently taking shape on our shop floor. Designed for performance, efficiency, and smart integration, this system includes a key feature tailored to the customer’s unique facility requirements: a vapour condenser on the kettle.🍻

Why does that matter? This brewery will be located inside a large commercial complex where traditional steam ventilation to the outside isn’t possible. The vapour condenser helps manage kettle vapours, reducing steam and odours while making installation possible in a non-traditional brewery space.

Every brewery has unique challenges — and we engineer systems to solve them.

Variety is a constant on the shop floor at Specific.

Here's a few snaps of equipment in fabrication on the production floor: a heavy-duty mash cooker with wide gap heat exchanger, designed and built for quick cook times, a portable 2-vessel CIP cart designed to streamline cleaning operations, and a hybrid design pot still for premium spirit production (awaiting plumbing).

The next brewhouse system in our shop. 👀

The next system coming through our brewhouse area of the shop is this 20 BBL 3-vessel brewhouse. This brewhouse will be integrated with SpecBrew automation, bringing recipe driven control to the operator, from grain silos through to beer carbonation. The system is currently in the early phases of system integration, where engineering, fabrication, automation, and process design all come together into one seamless brewing solution.

Proud to see this 2,000 litre pot still built by Specific operating at Whipper Snapper Distillery — one of Australia’s pioneering urban distilleries.

Known for pushing the boundaries of Australian whiskey, Whipper Snapper crafts spirits using locally sourced Western Australian grains and a true grain-to-glass philosophy. Their award-winning Upshot whiskey program has helped showcase Australian whiskey on the global stage, including recognition at the World Whiskies Awards.

Built to support both innovation and consistency, this custom pot still combines traditional copper craftsmanship with modern engineering to help bring bold Australian spirits to life batch after batch.
