A bit more work! Recycling some pine boards from elsewhere in the house, needs a bit of a wash, but looks great! Shower/Bath stall will go on the right there in that partially completed corner. The stall will cover the rest of that wall so putting pine all the way wasn't necessary, saves product and time!
Did another layer of plaster after some light sanding. Next we'll sand some more to get everything nice and smooth and we can put some primer! Then it will be time to move the washer, dryer and shower/ Bath stall upstairs! What do you think? Got some projects that need doing? Message me today! 😁

Finished putting boards on the deck! 🙂 Was originally a veranda along the front of the house but I didn't think all the space was super practical. I'll eventually enclose it in the back instead, but this is the first steps done at least 😁💪

Say bye bye to the old tongue and groove pine panels, and hello to fresh insulation and 6 mil v***r barrier! Out with the old, in with the new! Looks like a whole new space! No more random drafts on windy days, keep the heat indoors where it belongs on the cool days, and that hot blistering sun outside on those hot days! Better temperature control for the whole house! Oh and let's not forget that massive wasp nest, thankfully looks like it's been abandoned since I added rigid foam to seal off the exterior 😅🤣 otherwise that would not have been a fun experience 🤣

Stairs!! Made from dimensional lumber, love the character it gave the space! Open riser design, made from planed 2x4s and 2x12s for the stringers, kept the 2x12s as is minus some sanding to get the marks and grooves out of it. Locally sourced pine treads from a local mill near Fredericton NB. Sanded down to 220 grit, popped with some water and sanded down again for the smoothest finish! Finished it off with some oil based polyurethane. Treads were attached with construction adhesive and pocket holes from below to keep a clean look from the top. Love the character it's added to the space, and feels better than the shoddy stairs that were there before! L27 lug bolts and K1 washer to attach the 2x4 cross member to the stringers, countersunk some holes for the lug bolts so everything stayed as flush as possible. All for about 500$ in parts! Who can make stairs this good looking for that price point 😍😎😁 last two photos is what was there prior haha they completely collapsed as I was pulling them apart, clearly wasn't very stable as they'd shake everytime the dogs walked up them 😅

More work more work, and more work! Redoing the stairwell! New risers, new stringers, new treads, open riser design. Did a model online of what the finished product should sort of resemble. 8mil v***r barrier, R20 insulation. Lots of sweat! 😎 Let's GOO!!
