At CIM Montréal in 2019, Wenco first publicly announced work on what would become ISO 23725 — the open autonomy standard now reshaping how mining operators choose their technology partners.
That moment is a good reminder of why industry convening still matters.
For 100 years, CIM has brought operators, suppliers, and innovators into the same room to debate, disagree, and move the industry forward. For a Canadian company that's been serving mining for over 40 years, that platform isn't a nice-to-have — it's where the conversations that shape the next decade actually happen.
Glen Trainor, longtime Wenco leader, puts it simply: "CIM Connect gives us the platform where we can share ideas with others in the industry... connecting us with the operators and the challenges that matter the most."
Congratulations to Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum on 100 years. Here's to the next century of moving mining forward, together.
