The Toronto Atmospheric Fund has approved $1 million of funding through an ESPA, (Energy Savings Performance Agreement). The retrofit will focus on lighting, water conservation, heating and cooling, and other energy efficiency systems to optimize energy, reduce costs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Toronto Atmospheric Fund was created in 1991 to focus on reducing local greenhouse gas and air pollution emissions. The TAF supports projects such as a street lighting retrofit, traffic light LED conversion, and building retrofits have generated $55 million in savings for the city to date.

Toronto Has introduced the H.E.L.P which will make it possible for homeowners to barrow money for energy efficiency retrofits, the home owner then pays off the loan through installments on their property tax bills.

They have invested $500 million into product research to develop product with greater efficiency, and they aim to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions of their offices, manufacturing facilities and fleet by 35% by 2020.
