Hope none of you have gotten flooded during these crazy rains. I just wanted to give my customers an update on this Canada Day week. Erik is on vacation all week and I have decided to close at noon on Friday and be open on Wednesday until 3pm. May the rain stay away or at a minimum so that you all can get some of your projects done and have a good week.

If you are looking for a good deal on stain, we made a special purchase on this Cabot deck & siding stain. It’s not what we normally sell but I couldn’t pass up this super deal. It says that it’s deep penetrating oil but is a hybrid with soap & water cleanup. Only $44.95 for a single gallon (3.78 Litre) but if you buy 4 or more I can sell for $39.95 & $34.95 for 10 or more.

I hope everyone are enjoying the nice weather we are having finally. I would just like to take a moment to honour a beautiful kind lady that is no longer with us on this day, the anniversary of her passing. Shirley Corman saw promise in me and sold me The Shake Shop which she and her husband Ted created & cherished many years ago. I have been blessed to have gotten to know her and miss her visits. Whenever she would come to see me, we would embrace with a big hug. I miss those very much. I hope she is watching over us and proud to see that their business is still doing well and run the same as Ted would have done so if he were still here.

Today May 8th marks the anniversary of the passing of Ed Corman who was the founder of The Shake Shop Cedar Warehouse here in Regina. Ed (Ted) was a smart, kind and hard working family man with good values and love for his family. He had a vision and created what The Shake Shop is today, a long lasting Regina based small business serving our community with the best quality cedar and pine products. His wife Shirley (RIP) along with their daughters, saw promise in me to run the business like Ed did and I hope that I’m doing you proud. I have enjoyed 17 years running this business and want to thank the Regina community for supporting me in upholding Ed’s dream. Rest in peace my friend.

Unfortunately I have to report that Crosby Cedar has had to close its doors. We at The Shake Shop wish Juanita and Dan all the best in their future endeavours and pray for Dan to recover from his battle with cancer. Today marks the day when Ted Corman (we called him Ed) passed away in 2007. He was the founder of The Shake Shop and was a very interesting man with a good heart and a keen business sense. A year later I bought the business from his wife Shirley Corman. She had a heart of gold. Unfortunately, she has also passed and I miss her greatly and am thankful that she sold me the business. It has added to my life financially and socially. Thank you for the Corman family and to all of the customers for continuing to support The Shake Shop Cedar Warehouse in their memory.
