We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Shop General Labourer to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in being part of a team, and is eager to learn and grow within a busy industrial environment.

In this role, you will assist with a variety of shop, yard, and operational duties while supporting the day-to-day needs of our production team. The successful candidate will be reliable, adaptable, safety-conscious, and willing to take on a wide range of responsibilities as required. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys physical work, can work independently, and thrives in a fast-paced industrial setting.

In addition to performing general labour tasks, the Shop General Labourer will support shop operations by maintaining a clean and organized work environment, assisting with material handling, and helping wherever needed to ensure projects are completed efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a changing work environment. Experience in fabrication, welding, construction, mechanical, or industrial settings is considered an asset, along with forklift certification and general equipment knowledge. Applicants must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and be available to work between 6:00am and 6:00pm.

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our team for a 6-month maternity leave coverage with the opportunity to stay on permanently. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a very busy, fast-paced, team-based environment while completing the day-to-day office tasks. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who excels at multitasking.

In addition to completing the daily office tasks and administrative duties, the Administrative Assistant role provides ongoing support to the Operations Manager’s throughout the day. This person must possess strong organizational and communication skills and have the ability to establish positive working relationships. The candidate must be goal-orientated and thrives in handling multiple responsibilities & duties under tight deadlines. The applicant is required to be available for work Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm.

First of all, thank you to the Prince Rupert Chamber and to our community for this incredible honour. Being nominated and being recognized alongside so many outstanding businesses tonight, truly means a lot to us.

Harbour Machining has been part of this community since 1979, when it started as a small family-run machine shop with just four or five employees. Today, we’re proud to have a team of 25 skilled employees - including Red Seal Machinists, Metal Fabricators, Carpenters, Welders, Millwrights, and Heavy-Duty Industrial Mechanics.

But what really makes our team special is that their abilities go far beyond their trades. Our crew brings incredible knowledge in project management, logistics, problem solving, and adapting to the changing needs of our growing community.

This recognition really belongs to our team. Their dedication to quality, customer service, and supporting local industry is what keeps Harbour Machining moving forward.
