Some people say. I didn't start my motor out of water. I just cranked it over, too check my battery. This will damage the water pump impeller. Then you'll overheat your engine. If you hear a horn, don't ignore it.

TIPS: Never run or even crank engine with out water hooked up, with proper flushing attachment.
