Want to reduce downtime? Start by tracking it. 📋

You don’t need to optimize everything at once. Spend 30 days logging where downtime happens, then use that data to prioritize what needs attention first.

Track. Prioritize. Improve. ⚙️

How should your extraction parameters change with your biomass? 🌿
When dialing in parameters for fresh frozen vs. dry material, temperature is only part of the equation.

For fresh frozen, the goal is to keep the material frozen throughout extraction, which means your solvent needs to be colder than the flower.

With dry material, extracting too cold can limit solubility and leave potential yield behind.

Other variables matter too:
🌱 Age of the biomass
📦 Storage conditions
⚙️ Particle size
🧪 Potency
🌡️ Extraction temperature

The best SOP is one adapted to the material you’re actually running.
💬 What parameter has the biggest impact on how you adjust your SOP?

Built to make filtration faster, cleaner, and easier to scale. ⚙️
Our extraction systems use a stainless steel basket filter to increase filtration surface area beyond a traditional 6-inch filter gasket.

The result?
⚙️ More filtration capacity
🔁 Faster rinsing and washing
💧 Less product lost to washing
🛠️ No redissolve step
🙌 Simple basket removal and product collection

Small design decisions can make a big difference in how efficiently your process runs.

What if reducing downtime starts with designing out the failure points? ⚙️

Preventive maintenance matters, but every moving part, wear component, connection, and service point creates another opportunity for something to go wrong.

A more resilient system can start with simplifying process flow, eliminating unnecessary moving components, hard piping where appropriate, and reducing parts that require routine replacement.

The goal isn’t just to fix failures faster. It’s to design an operation that experiences fewer of them.

More throughput doesn’t always mean more profit. 🛑

When extraction teams focus on pounds processed or crude weight alone, they can overlook the metric that matters most: how much of the available target compound actually reaches the final output.

In a new article for Cannabis Equipment News, Matthew Erickson explores how incomplete measurement, inefficient recovery, and equipment-first scaling decisions can quietly erode manufacturing margins. 📉

The opportunity may not be another piece of equipment. It may be getting more value from the process you already have. 💡

How does particle size affect your CRC process? 🧪
Particle size can introduce different handling and process considerations.

With powdered media, this can include pre-drying, airborne dust, fines, and tighter media beds that can contribute to flow rate constrictions.

Granular media behaves differently. Larger particles generally create a more permeable bed, which can support more consistent solvent flow, reduce compaction, and make the media easier to handle.
Depending on the media chemistry, granular products may also eliminate the need for pre-drying.

Media chemistry determines the remediation function, while particle size and physical form influence how that media behaves in your process.

💬 Do you have a preference: powdered or granular? 👇

Real-world efficiency starts with the details. 🔬

Our R&D team spends weeks testing and fine-tuning every part of the extraction process, from filtration and solvent handling to overall process flow.

The goal isn’t simply to make a process work. It’s to understand where it can work better.

Small improvements in the lab can mean fewer bottlenecks, greater consistency, and more reliable performance in production.

💬 Where’s the biggest opportunity to improve efficiency in your extraction process? Let’s talk. 👇

What’s your biggest downtime risk? ⚙️
A missing spare part, maintenance issue, or supply delay can quickly turn into hours of lost production.

Join Matthew Erickson and Dustin Powers on August 24 to explore a more proactive approach to downtime.

You’ll learn how to calculate the real cost of an idle hour, prioritize spare parts and redundancy, reduce downtime, and build a practical 30–60–90 day uptime plan.

Can your brand deliver the same experience in every state?

Same logo. Same packaging. Same promise. But if the product inside delivers a different experience, is it really the same brand?

In his latest contributed article for MJBizDaily, Adam Temple explores why consistency across facilities and supply chains will be critical as the cannabis industry prepares for interstate commerce.

By treating extraction as a manufacturing step that produces standardized, repeatable inputs, operators can build processes that scale across facilities.

Repeatable inputs. Repeatable outputs. A brand experience that can scale.
