According to a wise proverb, “The perfect long weekend is not measured in minutes but in empty beverage containers racked up in your car.” 🤘

As you rocked this long weekend, what empty beverage containers are rolling around in your car right now?

⚡Is there a canned energy drink from a long drive?
💧A plastic water bottle (or two) from a hike?
🫧 Or, maybe a glass pop bottle from a picnic?

Let us know in the comments 👇 And be sure to bring ‘em into a bottle depot!

Camping for the Victoria Day weekend? Let’s do a quick check-in! 🏕️

How is your campsite looking? Pristine and green? Or are things looking a bit…messy?

A quick, two-minute campsite cleanup should solve the problem! It’ll make packing up and heading home a lot easier, all while ensuring your time in the great outdoors leaves no trace behind.

And don’t forget to collect all those empty non-refillable beverage containers. That way, you can return them to the depot for a refund when you’re back in town!

Thanks for keeping things tidy so we can all enjoy Alberta’s postcard-worthy scenery. 📸

Have a great long weekend!

The town of Pincher Creek is adopting curbside pickup beginning October 2026.
We would like to clarify that this will be a separate system. Any deposit bearing beverage must be returned to a depot to collect the deposit money. Please continue to separate your beverage containers from the rest of your recycling.

Starting October 1, 2026, the Town of Pincher Creek will transition to an enhanced recycling program which will include a new curbside recycling service!

This new service will be managed by Circular Materials under Alberta’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework. Circular Materials is a not-for-profit producer responsibility organization, responsible for Alberta’s transition to EPR. You can expect a more convenient, consistent and effective recycling system that improves recycling rates and ensures that recyclable materials are looped into the circular economy to be used again and again.

In Alberta, team sports run on empties. ⚽🥎🏐🏈

From early mornings and packed carpools, to snacks on the sidelines and weekends on the road, youth sports rely on the time and energy of parents, coaches, and volunteers.

Bottle drives play a big role in easing the financial pressure — offsetting registration, jerseys, and tournament fees so families can focus a little more on the game.

Planning a bottle drive for your team? Visit FindADepot.ca to connect with your local Depot for the support and resources to make it a success.

Did you know that returning your beverage containers can help us build a stronger, climate-resilient future?

We are proud to highlight that 7 Depots in southern Alberta are actively supporting The Resilience Institute (TRI). 🌱

TRI is doing incredible work right here in our backyard. They bring together scientific, local, and Indigenous knowledge to educate and research ways we can adapt to climate change. It’s about using every tool we have to take care of the land and each other.

Want to help? Next time you have a bag of empties, you can look for the TRI donation bins and information at these these participating Depots:
