Another great season in the Yukon comes down to good people, strong partnerships, and the work that happens behind the scenes to keep operations moving.

From our team in Parksville to our growing presence in Dawson City, we’re continuing to invest in the people, parts, and support that help our clients succeed. A big part of that effort is Jeff and our commissioning team, who work directly with operators to get equipment up and running, provide hands-on guidance, and help crews get the most out of their equipment in the field.

With a dedicated parts representative in Dawson and a growing local inventory of larger parts, we’re also making it easier for Yukon operators to access support closer to their operations. Not every site calls for a standard wash plant. The SS-800 De-Rocker was built specifically for coarse, unforgiving ground, featuring a reinforced 8 foot wide triple deck design capable of handling boulders up to 36 inches without missing a beat. Where a typical plant would struggle, the SS-800 keeps processing.

Unit Highlights:

Processing capacity: 120 to 180 tons per hour

Weight: 34,500 lbs

Screening area: 96 square feet

Water: 1,500 to 2,000 GPM

Power: 118 HP stand alone diesel hydraulic power pack, no generator required

Sluice run: 8 feet wide by 20 feet long, with 1 inch slot aperture sizing for reliable nugget recovery

Heavy duty construction with few moving parts makes the SS-800 ideally suited for excavator feed on rocky, high boulder ground where lesser equipment would bottleneck or break down. It is a rugged, purpose built solution for operators working difficult terrain and difficult weather in equal measure.

Recovery is rarely decided by one big feature. More often, it comes down to details like this one. Every Macon unit, including our trommels, shaker plants, and the de-rocker, is built with adjustable, high pressure spray bar configurations designed to maintain consistent stratification and strong recovery even as feed rates fluctuate throughout the day.

Spray bars are a standard component on every plant we build, and they can also be added on as a special feature for operations that need additional wash capacity. Properly tuned spray bars reduce severe washing, which helps prevent fine gold from being carried off before it has a chance to settle, while still delivering enough pressure to break down clay and keep material moving cleanly across the deck.

Because ground conditions and material types change from site to site, and sometimes from hour to hour, our adjustable water distribution systems let operators fine tune spray bar performance in the field. Cleaner concentrate starts before it ever reaches the table. The SD-100 Vibrating Screen was built to complement Macon's gold cleanup lineup, producing classified feed for efficient shaking table or gold wheel operation. It is typically used for wet screening T-150 or Longtom concentrate prior to tabling, slotting in as Step 2 between the T-150 Clean Up Plant and the Gemini GT-250 tabling system.

The SD-100 runs a double screen deck with quick exchange wire mesh cartridges available in 10, 20, 30, and 50 mesh, so operators can size material into oversize and undersize without stopping to manually swap screens between batches. The hopper can be scoop fed or flushed directly from 5 gallon buckets, and the unit collects 2x oversize and 1x undersize product in standard 5 gallon buckets for easy handling.

Specifications:

Concentrates per batch: 20 to 50 lbs, capable of processing larger quantities

Vibrating motor: 0.3 HP, 110 to 230V single phase

Wash water requirement: 10 GPM

The built in undersize collection pan with an overflow weir also allows spillage free, closed loop water recirculation when paired with our Gemini GT-250 tabling system, keeping your cleanup circuit tidy and efficient from start to finish. The start of the season is usually when everything runs at its best. Then, almost without noticing, recovery begins to slip. Maybe production slows slightly. Gold recovery isn't quite where it was a few weeks ago. Operators start making small adjustments to compensate, but the numbers never seem to recover completely.

More often than not, the problem isn't a single major failure. It's a series of small operational issues that build up over time. Screen media wears. Spray bars begin to plug. Feed rates become inconsistent. Material starts bypassing where it shouldn't. Even routine wear on pumps, hoses, or moving components can gradually reduce the efficiency of your entire recovery circuit.
