Science Rendezvous Recap!

Each year, ACE participates in Science Rendezvous at Ontario Tech University. This year, we opened our doors to everyone who stopped by ACE throughout the day, at any time.

From paper airplanes in the Climatic Wind Tunnel, to “rain” in the Small Climatic Chamber, a Toyota RAV4 in the 4-Post, and the always anticipated Mega Block competition in the MAST, it was another great year!

These community events continue to bring so much energy and excitement to our facility and the university campus, which becomes a real highlight for both ACE staff and Ontario Tech students.

ACE is currently attending the 28th International Technical Conference on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles in Toronto, Ontario, from Tuesday, May 12 to Friday, May 15! You can find ACE's team members, Andrew and Rick, at booth #27 in Hall C of the Enercare Centre building at Exhibition Place.

ACE team members look forward to engaging in meaningful conversations, sharing ideas, and being part of the innovation driving the industry of vehicle safety forward at ACE.

Last month, ACE proudly supported another successful Fluid Dynamics Lab in collaboration with Ontario Tech University’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science (FEAS) and Faculty of Business and Information Technology (FBIT).

Thanks to the incredible engagement from students, ACE engineers Izzy, Patrick, and Tom, and FEAS faculty members Dr. Roxana Pao and Dr. Eda Aydin, the 2026 Fluid Dynamics Lab was an insightful, hands-on day filled with learning, collaboration, and lots of wind.

ACE is proud to bring together academic learning and industry expertise, ultimately creating meaningful, real-world experiences for Ontario Tech students to explore and grow in the fields they’re passionate about.

It’s a Dynamometer (DYNO) and Moving Ground Plane (MGP) swap day at ACE Research and Testing Facility!

If you have been to ACE, you may not have realized the expanse of what is also happening underneath our chambers! Under our Climatic Wind Tunnel (CWT), we have the unique ability to swap out our Chassis Dynamometer for our Moving Ground Plane (MGP), which is currently being commissioned to support clients.

This swap doesn’t happen without the hands of everyone on board, making sure safety, team work, and communication is top priority. With the support of the team, a lot of hard work, and efficient preparation, the process is seamless.
