For another incredible year, ACE brought its 4D Movie Experience back to Ontario Tech’s Fall Orientation in our Climatic Wind Tunnel!

New and incoming Ontario Tech students had the opportunity to experience the storm while watching Twisters (2024). With powerful winds and cool rain, students were immersed in the action and experienced the movie in a way they won’t forget!

At ACE, we’re always thrilled to create exciting and unforgettable experiences for incoming students, giving them a firsthand look at the unique opportunities and innovation happening at Ontario Tech.

Here’s to inspiring the next generation of change-makers, innovators and future workforce!

TOMORROW, September 5, ACE is back with another exciting 4D movie at this years Fall Orientation!

For two separate showings, ACE brings to you Twisters (2024)! With your new classmates, experience the action like never before. Feel the wind, rain and intensity of the storm as the movie comes to life around you!

Showing #1:
Registration Opens - 1:00 p.m.
Movie Begins - 1:20 p.m.
Movie Ends - 1:45 p.m.

Showing #2:
Registration Opens - 2:00 p.m.
Movie Begins - 2:20 p.m.
Movie Ends - 2:45 p.m.

Please note:
- Find ACE through the OPG Engineering or ACE building doors, west from the Campus Library. Signs inside the building will guide your way!
- Student ID is REQUIRED at check-in.
- Only 75 students are allowed in per showing - first come, first serve for registration and check-in.
- Showings are 25-minutes in duration.

About Twisters (2024): Twisters is an action-packed disaster film that follows a new generation of storm chasers as they race to study and survive some of the most powerful tornadoes ever recorded.

ACE is heading to the 2026 Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham, from Friday, August 14 to Sunday, August 16! You can find ACE's team members, Andrew Karski and Tiya Chandwani, at ACE's booth, sharing everything there is to know about our facility's capabilities.

Festival hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with an early start and end from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. From advancing vehicle technologies to exploring the latest in the automotive sector, engineering and design, we look forward to engaging in meaningful conversations, sharing ideas, and being part of an exciting event full of inspiration, excited visitors and good conversations.

On this day in May, ACE had the privilege of participating in the 28th International Technical Conference on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles (ESV). For the first time since 1998, Canada hosted this international conference, showcasing groundbreaking advancements in vehicle safety.

As part of this initiative, ACE hosted a technical tour of our facility for attendees visiting from Toronto, ON. Through a combination of interactive activities and informative presentations, guests had the opportunity to experience the diverse capabilities of our chambers, from simulating environmental conditions such as snow to conducting component-level shake-and-rattle testing through our MEGA Block activity!

Providing an inside look at our research and testing facility allowed guests, industry members, and organizations from around the world to glimpse the innovation taking place at ACE and Ontario Tech University every day.

Today, June 6, 2026, ACE Research and Testing Facility at Ontario Tech celebrates 15 years of innovation, growth, collaboration, and the incredible people who have shaped ACE into what it is today.
 
Over the past 15 years, ACE has become more than a research and testing facility, it has become a place for groundbreaking ideas, industry-leading capabilities, hands-on learning, and meaningful partnerships. From automotive and climatic testing to aerospace, defence and dual-use testing, human performance testing, media production, and beyond, ACE has continued to push boundaries while supporting the future of research, technology, and talent development at Ontario Tech.
 
This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication of our staff, students, researchers, industry partners, clients, and community members who have contributed to ACE’s success throughout the years. Every project, partnership, event, and achievement has played a role in building the legacy we celebrate today.
 
As we reflect on the past 15 years, we are incredibly proud of how far ACE at Ontario Tech has come, and even more excited for what lies ahead.
