When you're in Toronto, you make a point to visit old clients, even if they're not at and even if the only business purpose is to say hi.

Why?

Because a professional network is a lot like infrastructure. If you maintain it regularly, it’s there and reliable when you actually need it.

Quick coffee with an old colleague this morning. No agenda. No pitch. Just catching up. A nice breath of fresh air on the quick walk back.

Those conversations are usually where the next chapter starts anyway.

Here we go.....

The only time I remember my Dad being lost was in Disney World in 1977.

Everywhere else, woods, bog, back roads in Newfoundland, he always knew exactly where he was.

We hunted a lot when I was a kid. No GPS. No phone. Just boots, a r***e, and whatever was between your ears.

He’d stop and ask, “Where are we?”

If the ridge runs west and it’s on your left, you’re facing north.
If the sun’s dropping over your right shoulder, you’re heading south.
Water runs downhill. Pay attention to slope.
Pick fixed points. Triangulate. Don’t walk blind.

It wasn’t complicated. It was basic orientation.

But it stuck.

Before you design, before you build, before you make a decision, you orient. Figure out where you are. Find your reference points.

My Dad was a surveyor. Of course he never got lost.

Except once......................Disney World. 1977.

Merry Christmas from Terra Project Solutions!

This year has been full of progress, challenges, and great collaborations. We couldn’t have done it without our amazing clients, partners, and team who make all the hard work worthwhile. It’s been a year to be proud of, and we’re looking forward to building on that momentum in 2025.

This Christmas, we’re keeping it simple: eat too much, laugh a lot, and don’t think about work until absolutely necessary. That’s our plan, and we highly recommend it.

Here’s to a Merry Christmas, a safe holiday season, and a 2025 that we’ll tackle head-on—after we finish the leftovers, of course. Cheers to another great year ahead!

It's been a while since I have been in this airport. I think it might actually be back in the DEW Line days!

See you there....
