We don’t build technology for this year’s field season.🌍
We build it for the next generation.

For the scientists who haven’t started university yet.

For the conservationists still drawing wildlife at the kitchen table.

For the kids who will inherit the data we collect today.

If we do our job well, there will still be animals to track when it’s their turn.

That’s the mission.
For wildlife.
For science.
For tomorrow.

Serious question:
If you asked your child what you do for work…
What would they draw?
This is what a 10-year-old thinks Lotek does.
And honestly — he’s right.
Drop a 🐾 if you work in conservation.
Drop a 🎨 if you’ve ever been reminded why you do what you do.
Let’s hear it.

Let’s protect the planet for the youngest wildlife scientists: the ones who will soon inherit it 🌎

Lotek, Through Young Eyes 🎨

A few weeks ago, someone on our team couldn’t get their 10-year-old son to go to school.

So he came to the office instead of staying home to play video games.

“No screens. No video games. You’re going to be bored.”

He brought paints and crayons.

“I’m going to draw,” he said.

At one point he asked, “What do you do?”

He was surrounded by the buzz of what we do— wildlife tracking, GPS collars, satellite tags, firmware updates, battery life calculations…

The usual workplace chatter.

Something clicked – he opened his notebook and started drawing.

Not antennas.
Not circuit boards.
Not satellites.

Instead, he drew what he thought Lotek meant.

A bird.
A deer.
A shark.
A fish.

And our name, written big and bright above.

It stopped us for a moment.

Because that’s exactly it.

At Lotek, we talk a lot about fixes, transmissions, sensors, and data.

But when you strip it all back, what we’re really building is something much simpler:

Tools that help protect wildlife.
Tools that help researchers understand migration, survival, and habitat.
Tools that help managers make better decisions.
Tools that help keep wild places… wild.

Seeing our work through a child’s eyes was a reminder of why we do this in the first place.

Not just for today’s field season.

Not just for the next study.

But for the next generation of scientists, conservationists, and explorers.

Maybe even the kids who are drawing wildlife at the kitchen table right now.

Because if we do our job well, there will still be animals to study, track, and protect when it’s their turn.

And honestly — that’s the goal.

For the wildlife scientists of tomorrow – and for everyone committed to Advancing Wildlife Science.

🚨 Bighorn Sheep Relocation: Mission Accomplished! 🚨

It’s official: Bighorn sheep are now living their best lives in Franklin Mountains State Park - Texas Parks and Wildlife, thanks to the join effort of Texas Parks and Wildlife and Wild Sheep Foundation.

Our collars are doing more than just looking cool—they’re running on solar to gather crucial data to help ensure these sheep thrive in their new home. 🌍

🌙 On cold nights in the Sumter National Forest, what's the best place to tag your quail?!❄️

Tagged with PinPoint Argos Transmitters, researchers can track the movement, habitat use and survival of N. Bobwhite quail in the Indian Creek Wildlife Area. This data helps improve conservation efforts across public and private lands.🌳
