This fireplace was due for proper maintenance before the colder months. We cleaned and serviced the unit, checked the operation, tested for gas leaks, and refreshed the inside with heat-resistant paint. The result is a fireplace that looks cleaner, feels cozier, and is ready to be used safely again.

This is what can happen when a central AC drain is not installed with future service in mind.

The AC was leaking from the attic through the ceiling, so we came out to investigate. The issue was not just a clogged drain. The drain had been installed in a way that made it difficult to clean properly, which is why the problem kept building up even though the system had been serviced before by another HVAC company.

We cut out the old drainage, rebuilt it properly, added access for future cleaning, and installed an overflow safety switch.
That switch is a tiny part that plays a vital role in this case. If the drain ever clogs again, it can shut the system off before water ends up in the ceiling.

This week, we helped this little fella breathe cleaner air in his beautiful home in Port Moody. We gave his heat pump a deep cleaning, including all three indoor units and the outdoor coil.

What can be hiding inside a heat pump?

The first photo shows what we found inside the indoor unit during a recent service. The second shows what came out during cleaning. The third is the finished result.

This was inside a heat pump in our customer’s living room.

The part most people don’t realize is that this buildup is hidden inside the unit. If it’s sitting inside the heat pump, that’s the air your family is breathing every day.

A quick wipe of the filters won’t remove what builds up deep inside the system. We use a pressure washer designed specifically for heat pump coils to thoroughly clean the indoor unit and restore proper airflow.

A few shots from our Saturday call here in New West.

We were looking into issues with a heat pump and went through the system from top to bottom, checking for leaks and making sure everything was safe.

We then serviced three indoor units, bringing the cooling back into the home.
