♻️ Most people throw this piece away.

But many installers don't realize it can still be useful.

After removing the leveling system, the wedges are still in great condition and ready to be reused on future installations.

And there's one more detail 👇

The clip head that breaks off doesn't necessarily have to end up in the trash.

Thanks to its shape, it can be reused as a spacer on future jobs, giving a second life to a piece that would normally be discarded.

⚠️ If you've ever had part of a clip get stuck in the joint, the problem might not have been the leveling system.

It might have been the way it was removed.

Many installers use a mallet or their safety boot to remove leveling clips. And while both methods work, there's one detail that makes all the difference:

📌 Always strike in the direction of the grout joint.

Hit it the wrong way, and the clip may break incorrectly, leaving plastic behind that you'll need to remove later.

That's why many installers prefer using pliers:

✔️ More controlled removal
✔️ Lower risk of improper breakage
✔️ Less cleanup afterward
✔️ Cleaner finished result

Sometimes spending a few extra seconds removing clips can save you a lot of time later.

Once the tile is in place, it's time to check for lippage, adjust the wedges, and make sure everything is perfectly leveled before the adhesive cures.

😩 Everything was going perfectly… until adhesive started squeezing through the joint.

If you install tile, chances are you've run into this before:
You place the tile, adjust the tiles, and suddenly adhesive starts coming up where it shouldn't.

The good news? There are a couple of easy fixes 👇

💡 Reuse a broken clip head to clean the joint.
🪥 Use a toothbrush to remove any remaining residue.
✨ But the best solution is prevention: remove excess adhesive from the tile edges before installation.

Cleaner joints. Better finishes. Less cleanup.
