In Niagara, Ontario, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) will have an extra resource at the ready for searches in lakes and rivers through the recent acquisition of their SEAMOR Marine ROV. This portable unit is deployable by just a single person and can search depths of up to 300 metres with auxiliary instrumentation including HD video feeds, multibeam imaging sonar and recovery manipulator.
The SEAMOR Marine Chinook ROV has been successfully deployed to fulfill mission-critical objectives for other Canadian Search & Recovery agencies as well, including the National Underwater Recovery and Training Centre (NURTC) in Nanaimo, British Columbia and RCMP detachments across the country. End-user testimony and in-situ performance reviews were a decisive factor in the move by the NRPS to acquire their own Chinook ROV.
We at SEAMOR Marine are proud to support the NRPS in their Search & Recovery efforts and wish them every success as they deploy their new Chinook ROV in the field. For more information about how a Chinook ROV can augment your fleet of marine vehicles, visit www.seamor.com.
