Meet the Team Tuesday: Alex Dernier

We’re excited to introduce Alex Dernier, who joined Abacus Enterprises as a Technician in our shop in October 2024. Alex has quickly become a key member of our team, known for his hard work, positive attitude, and that infectious bounce in his step that lights up the workspace.

You’ll often find Alex joking around with his fellow technicians, contributing greatly to the high morale in our shop. He’s not only essential to keeping our fleet in top condition and on the road but also a main source of entertainment—especially at our annual Abacus Christmas parties!

Alex is currently heading back to class to pursue his Journeyman certificate, exemplifying the kind of personal and professional growth we love to support at Abacus.

When he’s not hard at work or hitting the books, Alex enjoys kicking back and watching or playing a good hockey game.

We remember and pay our deepest respects to all those who have lost their lives, been injured, or fallen ill due to work-related incidents.

This day is a powerful reminder for all of us to renew our commitment to improving health and safety standards in every workplace — because everyone deserves to return home safely.

We’re excited to introduce Keren Crossland, who recently joined our office staff in late 2025! With over 15 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience, Keren plays a key role in keeping Abacus running smoothly. She quickly became a valued member of the Abacus family, tackling each day with a bright smile and a highly positive attitude.

Outside of work, Keren is a proud grandma to her hockey-loving grandson, bringing that same enthusiasm and dedication to family as she does to the office.

**Meet the Team Tuesday: Justin Revet**

We’re absolutely pumped to shine the spotlight on Justin Revet—one of the true cornerstones of the Abacus Enterprises team!

Justin first joined us back in the fall of 2013 as a rock truck operator and quickly proved he was built for more. Through hard work, determination, and a drive to keep leveling up, he worked his way through the equipment ranks and became a key part of our operation. After a short time away expanding his experience, we were beyond excited to welcome him back in the spring of 2022—right where he belongs.

Today, as one of our lead hands, Justin is instrumental in keeping our projects running smoothly, safely, and on schedule. He leads by example every single day, bringing a positive attitude, strong leadership, and a team-first mindset that lifts everyone around him. No matter the challenge, Justin shows up with a smile and gets it done.

Outside of work, Justin is a dedicated family man who loves spending time with his wife and two kids, especially supporting them in their hockey journey.

We’re incredibly proud—and lucky—to have Justin on the Abacus Enterprises team!
