💧 Un pavé qui s’affaisse peut révéler un problème sous la surface.

Lorsque les pentes du terrain et le drainage fonctionnent mal, l’eau peut s’accumuler, fragiliser le sol ou entraîner des particules fines. Résultat possible : tassement du terrain et affaissement du pavé.

La qualité du remblai et sa compaction doivent également être vérifiées.

Avant de refaire le revêtement, il faut comprendre la cause et corriger la gestion de l’eau.

When site grading and drainage don’t work properly, water can accumulate, weaken the soil or wash away fine particles. This can contribute to soil settlement and sinking pavers.

Vous gérez un immeuble au Québec? Voici un motif à connaître.

Des fissures en escalier dans un mur de blocs de béton — surtout près d'une porte — sont un signe visuel que beaucoup de propriétaires remarquent, mais peu savent comment interpréter.

Ce type de fissure suit les joints de mortier en diagonale. Il peut apparaître pour plusieurs raisons différentes. Ce n'est pas toujours urgent, mais ce n'est pas non plus quelque chose à ignorer ou à simplement repeindre.

Ce qu'il est utile de faire :
Lors de votre prochaine visite de l'immeuble, notez si la fissure a changé depuis la dernière fois, si elle traverse le bloc ou reste dans le joint, et si les portes ou fenêtres à proximité fonctionnent normalement.

Ces observations aident un ingénieur à évaluer rapidement la situation.

Sur les photos partagées ici, on observe des signes visibles de dégradation sur des dalles de balcon en béton : fissures en surface, éclatement du béton sur les bords, et détérioration autour des ancrages de garde-corps. Ces indices sont importants à documenter, mais leur interprétation exacte — cause, gravité, urgence — nécessite l'évaluation d'un ingénieur qualifié.

Notre équipe a documenté un cas où des fissures importantes ont été observées à la base de murs de fondation dans un sous-sol, accompagnées d'un déplacement visible de la semelle. L'ingénieur responsable du dossier a conclu que l'absence de ferraillage dans la fondation a contribué de façon significative à ce type de désordre.

Ce qu'il faut retenir pour les propriétaires et les futurs acheteurs :

✔️ Une fissure à la base d'un mur de fondation mérite toujours une évaluation par un ingénieur en structure.
✔️ Les plans d'ingénierie contiennent des détails techniques importants — leur exécution complète sur le chantier fait une différence réelle.

The main challenge in this project was creating large open spans for the living area.

The client wanted an open-concept space with minimal obstruction, while also planning structural modifications related to an additional level and a relatively large balcony suitable for outdoor seating and daily use.

Large openings are never just an architectural decision. They require a detailed structural review of load paths, beams, columns, supports, connections, and the actual site conditions.

Using accurate BIM modeling, we analyzed the existing conditions, coordinated the structural elements, and developed a practical solution that met both the architectural intent and structural safety requirements.

The design was then implemented on site and reviewed during construction to ensure consistency between the structural concept and the actual ex*****on.

Structural engineering is where architectural vision becomes safe and buildable.
