This week, AKA Energy Systems welcomed KTE to our Pooles Corner facility in Prince Edward Island for a multi-day technical exchange focused on advancing collaboration in marine power systems.

The sessions brought together engineering teams from both organizations to dive into system design approaches, share practical experience, and identify areas where our capabilities can align to support future opportunities 🤝

We were also pleased to have representatives from Hanwha Ocean join, adding valuable perspective and strengthening coordination across the broader partnership.

Beyond technical discussions, the visit created space to explore how we can work together more effectively in areas such as localization, Industrial and Technological Benefits, and participation in international markets. 🌍

Engagements like this are critical to building strong, long-term partnerships grounded in technical depth and shared objectives.

Last week, we were in Halifax for the Net Zero Atlantic ECT Innovators Networking & Showcase at Pier 21.

Spencer Lynch (AKA Energy Systems) and Ken Rudisuela (Salient Energy) represented our team, connecting with innovators from across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island, and sharing updates on our joint zinc-ion battery energy storage project.

Together, AKA and Salient are working to develop and integrate a safe, cost-effective zinc-ion battery system as an alternative to diesel backup power, supporting cleaner, more resilient energy solutions for PEI and similar applications.

It was a valuable opportunity to exchange insights, strengthen partnerships, and see the breadth of clean technology work happening across the region.

This week, Jason Aspin and Neale Kemp returned to that very spot to mark AKA’s 30th anniversary, reflecting on the journey, the challenges overcome, and the growth achieved along the way 📍.

What began as an idea has evolved into a company built on strong partnerships, technical excellence, and a team that continues to push boundaries across energy, marine, and industrial sectors 🌍.
