CCTV sewer inspections provide critical insight—and precise mapping and location data—on the true condition of aging underground infrastructure before any planning or rehabilitation begins.

In this video, multiVIEW Locates Inc. demonstrates how high-definition, real-time inspection using robotic crawlers and integrated transmitters delivers accurate, verifiable data on pipe conditions—from cracks and corrosion to joint failures and root intrusion—while pinpointing the exact position and depth of each feature.

With proper cleaning, controlled access, and precise mapping, multiVIEW equips engineers and asset managers with the clarity needed to make confident, informed decisions.

Bringing the underground into focus—so better decisions can be made above it.

Every underground utility has a clear point of ownership — public on one side, private on the other - the demarcation point. While residential properties typically have limited private services, commercial, institutional, and campus environments are a different story entirely.

On large properties, public utilities usually terminate at a single connection point, such as a master mechanical room. From there, a complex and often undocumented network of private underground infrastructure branches out to serve buildings, lighting, utilities, and site systems across the property.

These private utilities are not marked by public locate services, yet they remain the responsibility — and liability — of the property owner.

multiVIEW specializes in private utility locating and subsurface utility mapping. Our team traces infrastructure from its source and delivers accurate, field-verified data to help owners, engineers, and facility managers understand what lies below the surface. With reliable underground information, you can plan upgrades, maintenance, and redevelopment with confidence.

What’s below the surface often carries the biggest uncertainty in infrastructure projects.

Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) helps reduce that uncertainty — and hydro excavation is one of the most effective tools for confirming what’s really underground.

By carefully exposing buried utilities, hydro excavation allows engineers to verify depth, alignment, material, and spatial relationships. Information that was previously interpreted through surveys and records can be directly observed and documented.

Better underground data leads to better engineering decisions.

Watch the video to see how hydro excavation supports clearer infrastructure understanding and more reliable project planning.

Old downtown projects come with hidden risks.

In legacy urban corridors, underground utilities are often undocumented, abandoned, or layered over decades of upgrades.

That means:
• Incomplete records
• Tight, congested corridors
• Mixed materials that are difficult to trace
• Higher risk during excavation

A standard locate is rarely enough in these environments.

Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) provides survey-grade data and multi-method investigation to reduce surprises before construction begins.

In aging urban cores, better subsurface information isn’t optional — it’s essential.

Understanding subsurface conditions—especially in urban environments—requires more than a single tool or a one-size-fits-all approach.

At multiVIEW Locates Inc., our geophysical surveys are designed around the project. Site conditions, investigation objectives, and required outcomes drive the selection of technologies—not the other way around.

This video highlights how we integrate multiple geophysical methods to build a clear, reliable understanding of subsurface conditions:

• Frequency-Domain Electromagnetics to identify changes in soil conductivity and resistivity, often associated with fill materials, moisture variations, or impacted ground
• Time-Domain Electromagnetics when conductive targets such as underground storage tanks or metallic features are a priority
• Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) for high-resolution imaging of subsurface materials, including soil changes, foreign materials, and bedrock depth
• Seismic methods to measure shear wave velocity, providing insight into soil stiffness, strength, and bedrock topography

By combining these complementary technologies, we reduce uncertainty and deliver subsurface information that supports informed decisions across environmental, archaeological, engineering, and planning investigations.

Clear subsurface insight starts with the right questions—and the right tools to answer them.

What Is Sewer Dye Testing? | Tracing Sanitary & Storm Connections

Unexplained leaks, persistent sewage odors, and increasing environmental oversight can create serious uncertainty for facility and asset managers. When water flows where it shouldn’t, understanding exactly why—and how—matters.

In this video, multiVIEW Locates Inc. demonstrates how sewer dye testing delivers definitive, real-time confirmation of storm and sanitary system connectivity. Rather than relying solely on legacy drawings or assumptions, dye testing provides direct visual evidence of how underground systems truly behave.

By introducing a non-toxic, environmentally responsible dye into targeted access points, multiVIEW traces water movement in real time—visually confirming exact flow paths, identifying unexpected connections, and validating system performance. Results are then digitally documented to support accurate records and informed decision-making.

This video explains:
- Why unexplained water movement creates operational uncertainty
- How sewer dye testing works in real-world conditions
- How real-time visual confirmation supports system verification
- The role of accurate mapping in long-term asset management

multiVIEW Locates Inc. provides the clarity needed to manage uncertainty, support compliance efforts, and protect critical infrastructure assets—by showing exactly where the water goes.

Accurate utility location data is the foundation of successful engineering design. Without it, projects risk costly delays, design conflicts, and even safety hazards. At multiVIEW Locates Inc., our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) process delivers the clarity engineers need to make confident design decisions.

We follow the industry-standard ASCE 38-22 guidelines, which define four quality levels of utility data:

Quality Level D – basic records research to identify known utilities.

Quality Level C – correlating utility records with visible surface features.

Quality Level B – using surface geophysics, such as electromagnetic locating, to map utilities in plan view.

Quality Level A – exposing the utility through non-destructive methods to determine its precise position in 3D.

In this video, we’re working at Quality Level A — the highest level of accuracy. We begin by drilling a clean, precise core through asphalt to access the ground beneath. Using non-destructive Hydro-vac excavation, we carefully remove soil to expose a steel watermain without damaging it.

Once visible, we measure and verify its size, depth, and orientation. Survey-grade coordinates are then collected by a professional surveyor, pinpointing the utility’s exact location in three dimensions. This verified data flows directly into our CAD drawings, giving engineers high-confidence utility information for accurate design, conflict avoidance, and efficient planning.

At multiVIEW Locates Inc., we understand that better data leads to better decisions.

This video shows our team setting up a lateral launch CCTV inspection to capture detailed visuals from the mainline through the sewer lateral connection. The data collected supports engineering design, project planning, and long-term condition assessment.

Accurate, high-resolution inspections help ensure nothing underground is left to guesswork—so every project starts with confidence.
