Did you know that in a classroom with no sound absorption, students can miss up to 70% of the consonants their teacher speaks?

Ever wondered what happens to the insulation inside a building when it's torn down?

Engine 16 was built in 1882 as a Manhattan firehouse.

In 2023, it reopened as a five-story residential building retrofitted to Passive House standard, with its façade clad in an EIFS wall assembly built on ROCKWOOL Frontrock stone wool insulation.

A fitting case study for what noncombustible EIFS looks like in practice.

New York's Local Law 126 raised the bar for façade fire safety. Frontrock based EIFS met it without additional fire-blocking or NFPA 285 testing, because the stone wool itself is capable of withstanding temperatures exceeding 2000°F. The project also earned a NYSERDA Buildings of Excellence award.

EIFS is a foam-dominated category. It doesn't have to be.

When the wall assembly has to be insulated, finished, and noncombustible, ROCKWOOL Frontrock is the preferred EIFS choice.
