Did you know?

ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation provides the strength and dimensional stability that architects and builders rely on when designing high-performance buildings.

That durability allows greater design flexibility while still supporting fire resilience, thermal efficiency, sound control, and moisture resistance.

When materials perform to meet multiple demands, they help make better buildings possible.

Day 1 at AIA in San Diego.

Our team is on the ground for the conversations shaping sustainable building.
We'll be sharing what stands out all week.

In the aftermath of the Eaton Fire in Altadena, California, the Curran family faced the difficult process of planning how to rebuild the home they had been renovating.

One detail stayed with them. The ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation they had planned to install remained intact on their property.

That experience strengthened the family’s trust in the material, and the role noncombustible insulation can play in more resilient construction.

As they move forward with rebuilding their forever home, the Currans plan to incorporate ROCKWOOL Comfortboard continuous insulation as part of their exterior assembly—helping support a stronger, more resilient design.

When fire safety is part of the design conversation, interior walls play an important role. Passive fire protection helps slow the spread of fire and smoke, supporting evacuation and emergency response.

Fire rated interior partitions that include noncombustible stone wool insulation help support safer building performance in high occupancy spaces such as classrooms, hallways, and patient areas.

AFB is used within these assemblies to help meet fire rating requirements while supporting occupant comfort and long term durability.
Designing public buildings means planning for everyday use and for moments that matter most.

Tomorrow: a closer look at how acoustics shape the experience of home.

From minimizing noise transfer between rooms to improving overall comfort, sound control plays a key role in how spaces function day to day.

Join ROCKWOOL co-hosts Randy Williams, Travis Brundgart, and Joe Cook, along with guest builder Steven Kasay of Kasay Construction, for a roundtable discussion focused on real-world acoustic performance.

When we talk about acoustic comfort, we often focus on interior walls.

But exterior insulation also plays an important role. Exterior stone wool insulation in exterior walls helps reduce noise from traffic, airports, nearby homes, and weather events. Even roof assemblies can influence how sound is experienced indoors.

Where a home is located should help guide acoustic priorities. Exterior noise, floor plan design, and how a family uses the space all factor into the overall strategy.

Learn how stone wool insulation helps support both interior and exterior sound control.

The agenda is set for the ROCKWOOL Learning Lounge at AIA.

Across two days, we’re hosting focused sessions that explore the realities facing today’s design community—scaling high-performance standards, designing for wildfire risk, advancing decarbonization pathways, improving occupant wellbeing, and approaching retrofit projects with long-term durability in mind.

Each discussion brings together industry experts and practitioners with project-based insight and technical depth.

If you’re attending AIA, we encourage you to review the agenda and plan time to join us to earn one AIA LU Credit per session.

We look forward to welcoming you.
