It sure would be neat to have seen some these old barns back when they were new. You don’t see buildings like this anymore, it’s sad to see them go but they don’t serve the purpose they once did. We saved the loft doors and a few nice beams for the owners as we knocked it down.

Summer has been busy so far! Here we were asked to rebuild some feed bunks on 4 large pens. The cattle beat it up pretty bad, along with years of hauling manure out had worn it down to the existing geo tech. We dug out the manure, dirt and old geo tech and layed new geo in. We then capped it with 16-24” of clay and packed it down using our 84” padfoot vibrating compactor. It should be a solid base for the cows to feed for years to come!

Got an opportunity to go try our hand at some winter road hauling in northern Manitoba. They needed some extra trucks to haul in some rip rap from the setting lake quarry to a remote location on the northern tip of lake wpg. With a 6-7 hr round trip and a lot of that on a winter road at 40km/hr it’s a bit different than what we are used to! .neufeld got the call to head up and give it a go off the start. Early reports are the camp food has been great so far. Definitely a bonus when putting in long hours trying to get two loads a day. The days are numbered on the winter road before it starts melting so the push is on!

CON-EXPO is a must see event if you are in the construction industry! With 4.6 million sq feet of indoor space not including all the outdoor space, let’s just say we got our steps in. Some of the innovation and technology out there is pretty exciting! Now that’s enough of Las Vegas, it’s time to bring what we learned home and get geared up for the 2026 season!

We would like to thank all of our customers for another successful construction season in the Melita area. It wouldn’t be possible without our team .neufeld . Accomplishing any tasks from trucking and operating equipment to fixing whatever breaks down. Although construction can be tough, hot, dirty, boring, and challenging at times, it is very rewarding watching projects come to life and helping solve problems for our customers and community. Looking forward to what is coming in 2026! Thank you, and Happy New Year!🥳
