Every floor guy has one. That one job where the floor was so far gone that nobody thought it could come back.

Maybe it was a warehouse floor with years of buildup. Maybe it was a lobby that hadn’t been stripped in a decade. Maybe it was a tile job where the grout was black and the client was ready to rip it all out and start over.

Most floor machines start at full speed the second you flip the switch. That sudden jolt can catch you off guard, especially on a slippery floor with stripper or water on it.

The Rabbit-3 has a soft start/stop motor. It ramps up gradually when you turn it on and slows down smoothly when you stop. No sudden jerks. No surprises.

It’s a safety feature, but it also just makes the machine easier to control from the first second you turn it on.

Floor machines with DC motors use carbon brushes that wear out over time. That’s normal. But in most machines, there’s no easy way to tell when they need replacing. If you miss it, it can cause serious damage to the motor.

The Rabbit-3 has a small indicator light on the motor shroud that tells you when the carbon brushes need changing. Think of it like the oil change light in your car. When it comes on, it’s time.

The brushes only need replacing about every 10 years, they’re easy to swap out, and they’re inexpensive. It’s a small feature that can save you from a big repair.

If you’ve ever had dirty water spray all over the walls and baseboards while running a floor machine, you know how frustrating cleanup can be. You finish the floor and then spend extra time wiping down everything around it.

The Centaur SplashGuard is built into every Rabbit-1, Rabbit-3, and Stonechat. Turn three k***s and the SplashGuard drops down to enclose the floor pad and pad driver, keeping the messy mixture of chemicals, wax, and slurry trapped underneath the machine. Not on your walls. Not on furniture. Not on display cases.

Without one, your only option is lining walls and furniture with plastic sheeting before you start. Depending on the size of the job, that alone can add hours.

Everything is done. The floors are clean. The equipment is wiped down and loaded. You take one last walk through the building and everything looks exactly the way it should.
