Scottish Country Dancing...
..is a form of country dancing popular in England and Scotland in the 18th century. It is a very social form of dance which involves groups of 6 to 10 people. The music is played on the accordion, flute, piano, drums but usually no bagpipes. Scottish Country Dancing was used as a basis to the American square dance. There are about a dozen basic steps and figures whic

h will get you through most of the dances. Basic steps can be learned in just a few lessons and dances never have to be memorized! At most dance social evenings or balls the dances are published beforehand and "briefed" before each dance begins.
