Breast Cancer Awareness Aid
The Spark team was tasked with designing a breast cancer symptom awareness aid. The project required 3D CAD modeling and prototyping to verify all features, textures, and colours. Spark contributed project management efforts to organize all industry professionals; moulders, painters, videographers ,and a marketing team were coordinated and scheduled by our internal staff to create a comprehensive commercial style video for the client.

Lacrosse Stick Smart End Cap
Spark’s team of industrial designers, mechanical and electronics engineers were challenged to design a lacrosse digital end cap. This product uses smart phone technology to sense players’ position, speed, and playing habits. The product can be accessed by players and coaches to improve plays and team performance.

Excalibur RevX Stock Design
Our team successfully completed a previous project with our client, Excalibur Twinstrike, to design a stock. Impressed with our work, Excalibur asked us to collaborate again to design the stock portion compatible with their crossbow mechanism, including an integrated charger crank system. Our main goal was to deliver a fresh design that their company had not yet envisioned.

Scott’s Sports Roam Winter Helmet
The Scott’s Sports Roam series winter sports helmet was developed in collaboration with Apparatus Inc., Spark provided 3D CAD surfacing expertise by interpreting the 2D sketches of provided industrial design illustrations. The design was modified several times based on visual analysis and prototype review.
The goal of the project was to create a helmet design on budget and on a tight time-frame with production intent strategies. The helmet was successfully launched by Scott’s Sports as part of their winter lineup.

Stock Design
The Excalibur TwinStrike crossbow is the first of its kind double arrow crossbow ever produced in the industry. The primary objective is this project was to design a crossbow capable of shooting two arrows simultaneously, allowing for increased accuracy, faster reloading, and improved target pe*******on. The team at Spark was tasked with designing the stock portion of the crossbow. The Stock is the main housing that comprises the pistol grip, a butt stock, trigger guard, fore-grip and rail retaining body.

Treadmill Desk Attachment Design
This exercise accessory device is an attachment designed to be added to standard home and gym treadmills, allowing users to work on a computer or perform other desk-related tasks while walking or standing. The Spark team was tasked with designing a robust low budget product, with validation prototypes, supplier sourcing and sample verification for the client.

Ball Cap Liner
Baseball, known as America’s pastime, is a sport that combines athleticism, strategy, and a love for the game. Among the many positions on the field, the role of a pitcher stands out as one of the most crucial. However, the pitcher’s position also exposes players to potential hazards, particularly from line drives hit straight back at them. In the pursuit of player safety, the introduction of the Ball Cap Liner for Baseball aims to mitigate the risks associated with such incidents and enhance the overall safety measures for pitchers.

Adidas Lacrosse Gear
This project required the design of three distinct price-point lines of lacrosse protective gear for the Adidas brand. All three brands carried gloves, shoulder pads and elbow pads. The styling, part count, complexity and manufacturing methods were the main distinctive factors between each line of products.

Spectrometer Enclosure. Spark’s mechanical engineering team were put to the challenge to develop IP-rated enclosures for a local spectrometer manufacturer. Several enclosures were designed, many of which contain sensitive electronics and the ability to service when required. Tight deadlines and demanding specifications played a large role. Several iterations and design changes were quickly implemented throughout the projects. Spark also played a role in working with manufacturers to ensure the best methods were being used, and to assist in factory suggested requirements.
