Continuing our engagements in Tumbler Ridge, including the construction of the temporary Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, we will also be involved in the construction of their new gymnasium.

This new gym will provide students with a place to exercise and play while they await the building of their new school.

Falcon is honoured to continue to be a part of this valuable work being done to support the community of Tumbler Ridge.

Officials say the new prefabricated gym will serve as a permanent community amenity as rebuilding continues following February's mass shooting.

Here at Falcon Engineering, our thoughts have been with all the people in our community who have been affected by the wildfires throughout the Okanagan over the past few weeks. We share our deepest condolences for all the evacuees who are facing immense hardships and those who have tragically lost their homes.

We also want to share our deepest gratitude to all the emergency services workers who have been working tirelessly to save lives, help evacuees, and protect homes, livestock, and wildlife. Hearing the helicopters pass over our office in recent days is a direct reminder of your bravery.

Through all the tragedy and devastation, one of the things that has provided a glimpse of hope is the amazing way in which our community has come together to support one another. It has been truly incredible to witness.

In our effort to share in this community support, Falcon has made donations to the Canadian Red Cross and the Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team Society (ALERT).
• The Canadian Red Cross, which has been active in providing relief to those displaced by the wildfires in our community, is currently running a BC wildfire relief donation matching campaign sponsored by an anonymous donor. https://www.redcross.ca/
• ALERT directly supports animal welfare in our community through the evacuation, rescue, and shelter of domestic and livestock animals during disaster. They are 100% volunteer based and 100% funded by donations. They have been very active in the recent wildfire response to evacuate, rescue, and shelter animals in the Okanagan. https://www.alertcanada.org/

This innovative project in Cumberland, BC was featured in the first addition of the University of Victoria’s (UVic) ACET (Accelerating Community Energy Transformation) Gazette recently. We are excited to see this project getting visibility! Falcon is proudly supporting this impressive UVic-led ACET initiative to explore the potential for harnessing low-carbon energy from historic underground mine shafts on Vancouver Island.
