It took until the final week of summer, but lifelong friends and TULLOCH summer students Max Tulloch and Judah Maxwell finally got the chance to work together for a day on a survey crew, under the watchful eye of wily veteran Cam Hammel.

Max and Judah have been friends since they were toddlers, and this summer marked Judah’s first time working with TULLOCH. He split his time between construction inspection and survey technician responsibilities and will soon return to the University of Ottawa for his third year of Civil Engineering.

For Max, this was summer number eight with TULLOCH. He has become no stranger to life on the road, travelling across the province to support mine sites, transmission line projects, and wherever else survey expertise is needed. Max will be returning to Toronto Metropolitan University for his second year of Civil Engineering.

It was great to see two lifelong friends and summer students finally get the opportunity to work side by side before heading back to school.

Best of luck to Judah and Max as they continue their Civil Engineering studies this fall!

TULLOCH has been awarded MTO Contract Administration Assignment 5025-C-2407 in the Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Northeast Region, supporting upcoming improvements along Highway 17 between the Massey and Cutler areas.

The assignment covers MTO Contract 2026-5022, an approximately 21.7 km highway rehabilitation project extending from 10.2 km east of Highway 108 to 10.8 km west of Highway 553. The work also includes rehabilitation of the Serpent Lake Tributary Culvert, located west of Highway 108, and the CPR Overhead Bridge near Walford.

The contractor’s work will include grading, drainage, granular base, hot mix paving, electrical, and structural work.

As Contract Administrator, TULLOCH will support the project through construction oversight, site inspections, contract documentation, quantity verification, contractor coordination, progress reporting, and quality assurance.

Construction is expected to begin this fall and continue through 2028.

We’re pleased to continue supporting MTO infrastructure projects across Ontario, helping deliver safe, reliable, and resilient transportation corridors for the communities that depend on them.

The plant treats roughly two-thirds of the city’s wastewater, making the long-term stability of this infrastructure essential to the community.

August has been busy with community events in North Bay!

TULLOCH continued our longstanding support of the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation by sponsoring and participating in two events: the Voyageur 200 Bike Race and the Osprey Links Charity Golf Gala.

The Voyageur 200 brought the heat, with riders taking on hot temperatures, tough gravel, big climbs, and long kilometres in support of local healthcare. Led by TULLOCH’s Jeff Miller, the event brings together riders, volunteers, and supporters each year. The event has raised $17,000 to date, not including this year’s total.

At the Osprey Links Charity Golf Gala, TULLOCH golfers took to the course while teammates welcomed participants at the TULLOCH tent and hosted a prize giveaway. The event raised an incredible $96,000 toward the Foundation’s $3.8 million project to purchase an additional ultrasound machine and upgrade X-ray and fluoroscopy suites.

Healthcare is a key pillar of TULLOCH’s Community Commitment Program, and these events are another way our teams continue supporting local healthcare in the communities where we live and work.

Great to see work progressing at the Blind River Raw Water Intake and Low Lift Pump Station.

TULLOCH is providing contract administration and site inspection services, as Industra advances construction on the project.

The new infrastructure will help transition the Town of Blind River to a Lake Huron raw water source and strengthen the long-term reliability of the community’s drinking water system.

Looking forward to seeing this one take shape!

Team TULLOCH took part in the Sault Ste. Marie Construction Association's Annual Golf Tournament last week, spending the day catching up with clients, partners, and friends from across the local industry on a beautiful, sunny day at Crimson Ridge.
