Each bag comes with six panels, giving you three blocks. Lay the panels parallel, insert the flex ties one at a time, and once they’re locked, they’re locked. This example uses an 8-inch flex, which determines your concrete core size.

On site, one person can assemble while the rest of the crew installs to keep things moving. There’s a small learning curve, but once you get it, it takes about 15–20 seconds per block.

Looking for a stronger, more efficient way to build your foundation or walls?

Today we’re comparing two Element ICF options: preform blocks and site-assembled blocks.

Preform blocks have a clean white interior face and arrive ready to stack, making them a favourite for installers who want to move fast without assembly time.

Site-assembled blocks feature a checker pattern to receive flex ties and are ideal for tight or tricky areas. You can cut a panel in half and insert a full flex tie to create double webs on an 8-inch starter strip for added strength.

They also ship flat, allowing nearly twice as much product per truck compared to stacked preform blocks.
