Another project with - If you’ve ever dealt with welded on nuts with stripped threads because of frequent use, you’ll appreciate this! After cutting off the old nuts, we designed this threaded bar to be easily removed if a thread is damaged in the future. *This keeps the flywheel guard of a commercial Vermeer wood chipper closed*

Re-threading 64 holes for M22x2.5 to 7/8” UNC in 1.5x1.5” steel blocks. Changing the thread means that fasteners are readily available at a fraction of the cost for metric fasteners. These blocks retain the idlers on a Tigercat forestry harvester, also known as a feller buncher

Once again, we are hosting a 4-H machinery project at Community Machinery. This picture is from one of our meetings from the past year. Our achievement project was to design and manufacture two aluminum side panels, and two fan stands. These items help 4-H members who travel to exhibit livestock. Press brake die changes are a real waste of time. We were looking for something more ergonomic and easier than a hex key. This old Gray socket was the perfect length for modifying to hold a hex key. Now tool changes are a breeze compared to before.

A really nice project for .ca from back in 2015. Designed by architects, material is 1/2 x 3” steel flat bar. It always takes a little more planning to end up with the correct outside dimensions when forming a large radius on two sides of a frame. That’s the type of attentive detail that attracts us to these projects. What is even more meaningful is the vision behind this. Building accessible housing with such thoughtful custom hardware is a admirable achievement! 🙏
