Following last week’s stormwater management video, we’re highlighting a Vancouver Blue Roof project completed in 2026 that’s already doing its part to manage stormwater more effectively. 💧
At the courtyard level, the ZinCo RSX150 Blue Roof system temporarily stores runoff collected from upper roof areas through rain leaders and releases it at a controlled rate.
The result?
✔️ Reduced peak runoff
✔️ Less strain on municipal stormwater infrastructure
✔️ More resilient urban environments

Stormwater management starts at the roof. 🌧️🌿

Green roofs do more than bring vegetation back into our cities, they play an important role in managing stormwater where it falls.

But what if we could take it one step further?

CitiesAlive 2026 was a success! 🌿🗽

The ZinCo team headed to New York City for another incredible CitiesAlive conference, bringing together leaders, innovators, and professionals from across the green infrastructure industry.

A highlight of this year’s event was helping lead a tour of the iconic High Line, where our team shared insights into the green roof systems and strategies that have helped transform this landmark into a thriving urban green space.

From exploring innovative projects throughout NYC to connecting with industry professionals and contractors from across North America, CitiesAlive continues to be a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, build connections, and help shape the future of greener, more resilient cities.

A tough, reliable protection layer for intensive green roofs, podiums, and rooftop landscapes. 🌱
Elastodrain can work with very limited buildup space while helping protect the waterproofing membrane from mechanical damage and creating a durable base for the layers above.
One of those behind-the-scenes materials that does a lot of work.

🌱 Project Portfolio – Sedum Green Roof with ZinCo

Built with the ZinCo System and Floradrain® FD 25, this Sedum green roof was designed as a durable ecological protection layer while creating an attractive and low-maintenance green space.

The complex roof configuration required careful analysis of sun and shade conditions, with grasses and perennials selected to complement the Sedum mat.
