The Civil and Resource Engineering Department was created on July 1, 2005, after an amalgamation of the Departments of Civil Engineering and Mineral Resource Engineering (formerly Mining Engineering). The department continues to offer BEng, MASc, MEng and PhD degrees under both programs. The department has approximately 288 students at the undergraduate level and approximately 70 graduate students

carrying out research towards their MEng, MASc and PhD degrees. Research grants and contracts received by the department exceed $4-million per year. Our programs

Civil Engineering
The Civil Engineering Program is characterized by exceptional technical diversity, great breadth and depth of subject matter and a propensity for proactively addressing the practical needs of society. In our program, you'll become well-grounded in the basics of the discipline, which will allow you to consider various options for specialization.
