Some changes are easier for the people closest to us to notice. 🍂💚

The friends you spend time with may pick up on little things, like asking for something to be repeated or finding conversations a little harder to follow.

If someone who knows you well has noticed a change in your hearing, it might be worth listening to them.

October is Protect Your Hearing Month! 👂💚

From concerts and sporting events to headphones and noisy workplaces, loud sounds can be part of everyday life.

This month is a great reminder to think about how much noise your ears are exposed to and take simple steps to help protect your hearing, like turning down the volume, taking breaks from loud sounds, and wearing hearing protection when you need it.

Life can get louder than you might think. ☀️👂

Fireworks displays, sporting events, movie theatres, and headphones used at high volume are all common environments where children can be exposed to higher-than-expected noise levels.
Being aware of when things get loud is an important first step in helping protect little ears. 💚

“Your daughter will do everything that other children do, she will just do them with hearing aids.”

"My deepest fear is that someone will confess something sad to me in a crowded noisy room — say losing a job — and just taking a guess, I will respond 'Good for you!'”

We should gently but firmly push for others to use aids if they need them. Their cognitive health may depend on it.
