💚 Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day, a day to recognize and celebrate the 17 million people around the world living with CP.

What an incredible day! Aoife and Wahbi from NSM Burnaby joined forces with Active Healthcare Solutions and Ability Healthcare Group to complete a powerchair assessment with Jayde and Skyla Robinson at Sunny Hill. The Permobil M5 was fitted with the Ability Drive system from Tolt Technology, which allows users to control their powerchair and other devices in their environment using only their eyes. The technology is truly next level, and it was amazing to see it in action. 💙

Meet John, a longtime client of Tina at our Barrie branch! John has been with NSM for over 20 years, and his new Ki Mobility Liberty wheelchair with custom seating was worth the wait. He independently propels using one foot and one hand with a unilateral brake, and his new chair is perfectly set up to support that. Oh, and did we mention it's ORANGE? 🧡 Just look at that grin!

Today we recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and the ongoing inter-generational impact of the residential school system in Canada. We honour Survivors, their families and communities, and the children who never returned home.

The artwork used in this image was commissioned from Perry Sky Jack, Skylz Design (Coast Salish, Leey’qsun [Lyackson First Nation] Mustimuhw, a Central Coast Salish Hul’q’umi’num of the Valdes Islands).
