Today we setup a test block and did some 90* line boring and all i can say is wow! +/- .0002 on all bores with a fantastic finish.

First time getting to use our rough boring head, hitting the go button on that program was a bit nerve racking. We took .150 cut in 1 pass and probably took 20lbs of cast iron out of this block. We took this from a 496" to a 540" and oringed it in preparation for a procharger.

Had an insert loose its edge mid way decking this block. A quick check with the profilometer and a reprobe of the deck to verify everything was still happy and we are moving along! Tools like our Mitutoyo profilometer take the guess work out of surface finishes.

"Do I really need a torque plate hone" check out this limited edition ZL1 427 block, It pulled almost .003 out of round when torqued up! Good thing an out of round bore is not match for our Sunned SV-10 hone!
