Our Nelson Lumber Customer Appreciation event in Edmonton last week was a great excuse to get everyone together, step away from the usual jobsite and counter conversations, and spend some time catching up with our customers, contractors, suppliers and industry partners we get to work with every day.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, and to the vendors who helped bring the event to life with product demos, new ideas, great conversations and plenty to check out throughout the afternoon.

At the end of the day, lumber and building materials might be what brings us together, but it’s the relationships behind the projects that really matter. Thanks for spending the afternoon with us. We appreciate the support, the partnerships and everyone who helped make the day such a good one.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour residential school Survivors, their families and communities, and remember the children who never returned home.

This day is an opportunity to reflect on the history and lasting impacts of the residential school system, while continuing to listen to and learn from First Nations, Inuit and Métis voices and experiences.

We encourage everyone to explore Indigenous-led educational resources, support reconciliation initiatives and take part in programs that help build greater understanding within our communities.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey that requires listening, learning, respect and action from all of us.

A smoother build starts with a clear understanding of how everything fits together before materials reach the jobsite.

Using MiTek software, our design team can view a home in 3D, including roof and floor trusses, floor joists, walls and other framing components, to see how each system connects.

For more complex or multi-level builds, that added perspective helps confirm elevations, identify how different sections align and provide greater clarity before installation begins.

Builders and framers can also access the 3D model through the MiTek Viewer app, allowing crews to rotate the model, zoom into specific areas and better understand details that may be harder to visualize in a traditional 2D drawing.

What you’re looking at here is more than a stack of lumber. These truss packages are part of multiple homes currently moving through production, each one carefully organized before it ever reaches the jobsite.
